Have you ever wanted to own an electric car? or have you ever wanted to drive a Porsche 911? I wanted both, so I decided to build one. This blog is here to document my journey as I convert a 2002 Porsche 911/996 Carrera 2 from a gas guzzler to a completely electric vehicle - not a hybrid!

Running wire

With more batteries being added to the car every week, I wanted to start wiring them together.  Below is a picture of the rough wiring diagram for the high voltage wires.  Note that I plan to start with 18 packs in the car at first and upgrade to 24 packs after I prove everything works as designed.

Below is an under-car view of the wire paths.  I was been able to re-use the former coolant, hydraulic, and vacuum hose brackets and routes to get both the 2/0 AWG and the 6 AWG wire pairs from front to back in a clean and secure fashion.

Above is a view of the trunk compartment coming together.  Note the orange wires coming in/out of the sidewall.  I drilled the holes, then forced PVC pipe into the hole to protect the 2/0 AWG from getting cut by the rough holes. Close up below.

I drilled a total of 2 holes per side to reach the rear-wheel well compartments on both sides.  Below are photos of each side.
