Have you ever wanted to own an electric car? or have you ever wanted to drive a Porsche 911? I wanted both, so I decided to build one. This blog is here to document my journey as I convert a 2002 Porsche 911/996 Carrera 2 from a gas guzzler to a completely electric vehicle - not a hybrid!

Heat shield removal

Today I took a stab at a few random jobs.  I removed the right and left inner muffler heat shields (to free up a few more inches for future battery packs).  Then I moved on to finish up some lingering fuel venting pieces.  I removed the carbon filter and all the fuel venting tubes and components.  In total, I removed another 8 Lbs of waste.

  1. Sweet project. I must admit I'm a little biased. I'm doing the same thing to an '83 911 SC Targa. I have a page on the evalbum (http://www.evalbum.com/4120). Good luck and I'll be following your blog.
